No Piracy Blog Train

The Digital Scrapbooking industry has seen a massive increase in piracy of digital scrapbooking products.  Over recent months many designers products are being offered illegally for sale and via “swapping” groups.  In an industry where many hours are spent designing and developing products with very little return from sales this is having a devastating effect on many designers working hard to bring products to market.  The blog train this month is all about pirates in the bid to spread the message “say NO to piracy”

Here is my contribution to the blog train.  I hope you enjoy.

A Scouts Honour

Hi there Everyone

Hope you are having a good day. Here in the UK we are finally starting to see the signs of spring as my daffodils are peeping out… Few more weeks and they should be open and in their full glory.  Its been such a long winter I truly can’t wait for spring to arrive.

I have a new collection in my store specially requested by a valued customer :)  A scouts Honour is a gorgeous collection for your little boy and girl scouts.  There is a full UK and US version of the collection.

The collection is themed around the great outdoors with a lot of use of natural type elements such as rope and wood.  I had so much fun making the rope words and flowers.  The collection contains 20 papers, a full alpha, loads of original elements – 73 elements in total, including 20 rope word art and a full set of either UK or US scouts in a variety of skin shades.  Perfect to scrap all those special moments your little ones experience in the world of Scouting.

The collection can be found at my store HERE.  Great value for $7.99.

Here is a little freebie for you – My Boy and My Girl Rope Word Art

I love more than anything seeing the layouts people create with my products.  Please feel free to leave me a comment with a link to your layout so I can pop by and leave some love.

Been poorly :(

Since the start of this year, as a family we have been poorly :(  Its been one germ or bug after another.  From colds, coughs, sneezes, to ear infections, infatigo and tonsillitus.  I had just thought the end was in sight and everyone was on the mend when blow me down we got hit by another bad cold virus.  To top it all off I have also had Blephritis for the last 3 weeks.  I've had it before.  Its a chronic condition which causes swelling of the eyelids.  I think its caused by the long hard winter and too much central heating indoors and the heater on in the car.   Luckily it is treatable and my eyes seem to be mending nicely. I only seem to get an outbreak every couple of years too... so hopefully that's it now for a couple more :)
This means I've been able to manage and finish off my latest collection which will be in the store this Sunday.  Entitled Scouts honour it is a collection about Scouting requested by a customer.  It will be available in both a UK and USA format.  Here is a sneek peak for you...

Hope you like it :)  Look out for it appearing on my Blog Sunday with a little freebie just for you:)

My Store Team at Digital Scrap Ink

Hi there everyone…. I hope you are all keeping well in 2011!  So how are your new years resolutions going?  Did you make any?  Have you broke any?  I stopped making new years resolutions a while ago but this year my resolution is to work more efficiently and do some more blogging to reach out to my customers :)

Last week I introduced you all to my Four Little Pixels Creative team.  Today I just wanted to introduce you to my amazing store team at Digital Scrap Ink.  Digital Scrap Ink is a wonderful place to work and to hang out in the forum.  It is one of the most friendly and warming digital scrapbooking communities I have encountered with lots of challenges and things going on.  Everyday in January there is a top tip for using digital scrapbooking software such as Photoshop and Photoshop elements, from keyboard shortcuts to improving technique its definitely not to be missed.  One of the biggest frustrations many scrap bookers share is a lack of time to scrapbook those precious memories.. imagine being able to speed up your scrapbooking and learn some amazing new techniques.  The link to the forum for the January shortcuts is here: January A month of shortcuts

The store is owned by Michelle who took over management last year and has some wonderful ideas for enhancing the experience there :) This year is going to see some major developments in the forum so make sure you sign up for my Four Little Pixels Newsletter, so as not to miss out:).  Michelle works extremely hard to support her design team and customers

We have two wonderful ladies – Sarah and Karina  who work on our welcoming team and spend a huge amount of time moderating the forum and hosting our chats

We also have an amazingly talented creative Team – Julie (aka Scrapaholic), Star (aka Starlightprincess), Rosemary, Ann (aka AnnBK), Mary (aka MJB), and Missy (aka Missy) who also writes the store newsletter….

So a huge thank you to all you ladies for helping support Four Little Pixels Products.

P.S This blog post was written using Windows Live Writer.  For anyone who hasn’t tried it yet – its amazing.  It allows me to write my blog posts off line… preview them as they will appear on my blog and even uploads photos and formatting as I have specified in my draft.  It also allows you to keep multiple different drafts of your blog posts on your hard drive.  A definite must for busy bloggers!  You can download Windows Live Writer here:Windows Live Writer

Happy New Year to you all!

Hi there Everyone!

A happy new year to you all.  I hope you all had a wonderful christmas and a peaceful new year.  It was the usual manic chaos in my house but peace is now being gradually restored.  The children are settled back at school after an eventful first few days and we are all getting back into our normal routine.  I am also back at work and having had several weeks off in December it is taking a little bit of getting used to but I think I am just about there.  This means I may have a bit more time for designing!

I have a Fantastic new creative team working with my products this year and I can't wait to show them off to you all.  I will post some news and some of their layouts tomorrow.  I also have a new collection in store Cookie Mama.  I wish I had more time to write now but I must run.  I will update you all tomorrow regarding my wonderful new girls and products.

Take good care

Twas the Night Mega Collection

Hi Everyone

I have a fantastic new product in store - I had a blast making this one.  It was so much fun I just didn't want to stop!

TWAS THE NIGHT Mega Collection

Based on the Poem:
Twas the night before christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring not even a mouse....

Anyone who knows me will tell you I am a sucker for christmas and Christmas eve is a special day for us.  For it was on Christmas eve that we found out we were finally pregnant and it was later confirmed we were having twins!

Twas the night can be found HERE: Four Little Pixels Twas the Night Mega Collection

Can't wait to see your layouts in the gallery!!

Well at least the snow has stopped!!

The snow has now stopped falling thank god but we are still left with plenty of it on the ground and freezing ice to boot.  Our road is like a skating rink and every morning I watch the car slide sideways down it.  I did manage to get out myself today but it was like going to Alton Towers on the rides - stomach churning!!
We get snow most years and normally I drive happily in it but this year has been like no other.  I am probably a little more scared this year as I would hate to fall on my fracture and end up laid up again.  I will definately be glad to see the back of it but with temperatures not reaching above zero for the most part its unlikely to be anytime soon.
Lets hope tomorrow brings some sunshine!

On a brighter note Archie was very brave today and went to the dentist and had 3 diddy fillings done which is great as no more winging at 2am with toothache.  It was the boys christmas concert day and they got there just in time after the dentist.  I couldn't go but Emma said they were very cute!  Kayleigh is good too... apart from fed up with walking to school on the ice.  She has had a couple of little tumbles but managing okay so far....

Anyway thats all for me today.  Off to do a bit of designing.  My new christmas collection will be in the store this weekend :)

Oh no more snow on the way!!

I have just watched the weather and we have got more snow coming.  In fact it is going to snow all night and most of tomorrow.  This part of Kent is expecting another 6 inches we already have 11 and it will be deeper in some places due to the wind.... I'll be lucky to be able to open the front door tomorrow!!

Fun in the Snow!!

Once again this year Kent has come to a standstill under a deluge of snow.  It has been snowing constantly now for 2 days and we have at least 9 inches of snow... More in places.Whilst this creates ample time for me to catch up on paperwork it isn't all good with all the schools shut :(  It also means I daren't venture further than the back garden for fear of falling on my fracture again.  Still it did mean I got to spend half hour out in the snow with the kids :)

I don't think I ever recall such a heavy snowfall... Let alone in November.  Apparantly we have far worse to come too over the next few months... Nitemare!

Not for the kids (and not so little kids amongst us though)
